I wrote this a month ago. Thanks for waiting!

The day after my family left Milan my friends had planned a trip to go to Como, so I went along with them.
Jorge, Benoit, Will (Jorge’s friend who was visiting that week) and I were supposed to all leave the apartment together Sunday morning to go to Como with a few of our friends from our program, but Jorge, Will and I were not in a state to be up at 8 am Sunday morning. Benoit left without us, because he has self control, and Will, Jorge and I ended up leaving for Como around noon. We caught the train at Cadorna and got to Como around one, and met up with everyone at a trattoria in the city of Como. Jorge, Will and I hadn’t had anything substantial to eat yet that day, so we went to a gelateria and got some gelato to breakfast. Breakfast of Champions = Nutella and Lemon gelato at 1:30 pm. Our big plan for the day was to take a boat tour around the arm of the Lake Como is on, and after our gelato break we went to get tickets for the boat. We got tickets for the 2:45 boat at around 2:15, so we had half an hour to kill. Jorge, Will and I went for the “Let’s eat real food now” plan and got sandwiches from a cafĂ©/bar right by the dock. We grabbed our food and sat down on the banks of Lake Como for a brief picnic.
We hopped on our boat right after and began our grand tour of the four cities on that arm of the lake. I’ll let the pictures do the talking, as all we did was wander around and be amazed by the beauty of Lago Como.

An alley in one of the towns we stopped in
At one point we wandered in to a public garden:
And got the requisite group photo in:
We then wandered down to the bottom of the hill of whatever town that garden was in and saw a villa behind a gate ( didn’t get a good picture) which is where, among other infamous royal figures, Mrs. Simpson (who married the guy who abdicated the British throne and was a central antagonist of The King’s Speech) lived while causing the central conflict of that same Academy Award®-Winning piece of filmatic art.
And that was Como! It was beautiful and a really great, easy day trip. I need to make another trip up there!
